Alfred alumni: Be a part of the Cohen Center ‘IPO”

Alfred University alumni interested being part of the “initial public offering” of art work through the Cohen Center for the Arts are being asked to submit images of their work, along with the title, material and dimensions to Joseph S. Lewis III, dean of the School of Art & Design, for consideration.  Information may also be sent to cohen@alfred.edu

As soon as there is sufficient art work to display, The Store, part of the Cohen Center for the Arts, Main Street, Alfred, will  go public, featuring work by Alfred University alumni, faculty and visiting artists through the Cohen Center web site.

Work will be sold on commission, with proceeds going to support the mission of the Cohen Center: To provide hands-on experience to AU students in “the ever-fluid environments of art and design and business.”

Students involved in the operation of the Cohen Center will gain experience in arts administration, community development, all types of design, marketing, public relations and fiscal management. As undergraduates, the students will be involved in gallery management, exhibition design and organizing special events.

For more information, visit the site or contact Joseph S. Lewis III, dean, School of Art & Design, Alfred University, at lewis@alfred.edu or by phone 607.871.2412.
