Enter Knights’ Den for food with flair

Transitioning into a new academic year means more than adjusting to new classes and classmates for returning and new Alfred University (AU) students. During the summer months, AVI Fresh, the campus food service provider, cooked up a whole new look, changing the traditional Powell Dining Hall facility to a multi-station, retail-type food center, said John Dietrich director of dining services and resident district manager for AVI.

Campus changes, big and small, fill summer work agendas

Fall flowers are nestled in their beds. Some longtime staff members have packed up and moved to new quarters. New hires have moved into vacated office. Parking lots and roadways have been patched. There is new curbing, a refurbished walkway, a new retaining wall.

Alumni camp staffers enjoy summertime work as way to reach out, give back, stay connected

Summer is a surprisingly busy season at Alfred, despite the notion that it's a sleepy little village when the students aren't on campus. In fact, not only do some students stay here to assist with the wide variety of summer institutes and camps, young alums are also part of the staff needed for those programs.
